About the Position

Emergency Veterinary Client Patient Coordinators have the opportunity to earn $16.00 to $19.00 per hour depending on experience.

The Veterinary Client Patient Coordinator serves a vital role by supporting our emergency clients directly and advocating for our patients, as well as acting as communications liaison for our referring veterinary hospitals. This is an opportunity to work hands-on as part of the veterinary team as well as connect with clients and utilize client service skills. You will be responsible for 4 major roles at Parkway Veterinary Emergency Clinic:

1) Client communication, education, and relationship management

2) Administrative duties such as medical record-keeping and facilitating financial transactions

3) Assisting the veterinary team when needed

4) Maintaining hospital cleanliness as part of a team.

The Ideal Candidate

Requirements

Candidates will need to be professional, trustworthy, industrious, punctual, and love smiling! Ideal candidates should have a minimum of 2 years-experience in the veterinary field and the ability to maintain a calm demeanor and open communication while helping clients whose pets have urgent medical problems. Work hours will be exclusively nights and weekends, including rotating all major holidays. This will be an opportunity to learn, grow and achieve well above-average results. Wage commensurate with experience.

  • Ability to adhere to attendance policy.
  • Any allergies to animals must be controllable through medication.
  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
  • Must be willing to work long or irregular hours under pressure conditions. Overnights & Weekends are required.
  • This position requires the ability to walk, bend, stand and reach constantly during a minimum 8-hour day.
  • Visual acuity sufficient to maintain accurate records, recognize people and understand written directions.
  • Ability to speak and hear sufficiently to understand, give information in person and over the telephone.
  • Fine motor skills adequate for nursing skills such as phlebotomy and utilizing hospital equipment such as fax machine, computers, radiology equipment, laboratory equipment, etc.
